Welcome to audition central!
Below you will find audition scenes and songs to learn for each major character.
Underneath the character name is a short scene. Learn the lines for your character in that scene. Practice saying them out loud, and having a friend or family member reading the other characters' lines. Get comfortable with the scene so that you feel confident during your auditions! If it is a major singing part, there is also a song to learn. Listen to the audio clip, and sing along to practice. Use the sheet music to help you learn the words!
DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
I suggest choosing 3-5 characters to audition for, so that I can see your wide range of acting ability.
During auditions I will be looking for how you read the part with expression, how you move on the stage as your character, and how you react to the other characters on stage.
We will also have a singing audition, where you sing a short part of the song chosen for your character.
You don't have to memorize the lines if you don't want to, but you should know them well enough to read them naturally.
* If you do not wish to audition for a major character but still want a small speaking/singing role, you will be asked to read a part of the Narrator's audition piece and sing one of the songs chosen for the narrators.
Choose whichever you are more comfortable with.
